We are interested in engineering insect biology to build new tools for the genetic control of insect populations. We do this by combining principles of synthetic biology and computational genetics. We aim to build tools that can revolutionize the way human societies can sustainably tackle harmful insects. While our primary focus is applications to pest control, we are ultimately directed by the study of biology, the natural environment and the social and regulatory issues that arise with the application of our technologies.
